		<description><![CDATA[Thanks for mentioning CalCars.org ....now that we&#039;ve gotten broad buy-in on plug-in hybrids, we&#039;re actually focusing more on conversion of conventional gas-guzzling combustion vehicles rather than already fuel-sipping hybrids. That challenge is if anything even greater than the campaign since 2002 for PHEVs. It addresses the issue of near-term rapid market penetration, which we need to reduce greenhouse gases and petroleum use, and won&#039;t get just from new vehicles. It would help if cash for clunkers incentivized not only purchases of new replacement vehicles but, in some cases, conversion of the old vehicles.
